Major Projects Team"Providing a vision for the future"
On April 2000, the FHWA issued a concept paper for the creation of a Headquarters based Major Projects Team (MPT) to provide a focal point for addressing the FHWA's administration and oversight of all major projects. The Division Offices are responsible for project administration and oversight, including such activities as planning and environment requirements, design, right-of-way, project financing, construction, and contract administration. The MPT is responsible for providing program, and policy guidance for the administration of these major projects in support of the Division Offices and States. Specific Duties include:
Team Concepts and Beliefs...Creativity is of paramount importance to the success of MPT and will be allowed to flourish. Ideas are always evaluated on merit, rather than the status of the originator. Individual self-interest is secondary to the overall mission of the group. Continuous personal and professional growth is encouraged and accepted. Our individual differences are respected and utilized to achieve our common goals. Having fun is prosperous and will be allowed as we accomplish our vision. Our Vision...Provide a vision for the future and remain a recognized leader in emerging Major Project transportation technologies and practices through stewardship and oversight. Meet the Team
