Pavement Distress Identification & Techniques for Rehabilitation and Design

April 28-May 8, 1997, Reno, NV

Sponsored by the National Highway Institute (NHI), this course will cover pavement design, quality control, distress identification, and rehabilitation. Techniques discussed will include the Superpave asphalt mixture design system. Participants will also visit the University of Nevada's Superpave Lab Center and the state-of-the-art WesTrack testing facility. Training materials will include the SHRP Distress Identification Manual for the Long-Term Pavement Performance Project.

Concrete Durability Showcase Workshop

May 5-6, 1997, Salt Lake City, UT

Freeze-thaw durability, concrete permeability, and nondestructive testing of concrete are covered in this workshop. Equipment, including the impact-echo device and the surface air permeability meter, is available for loan to highway agencies.
