Notes:

The Federal or federally-assisted agency obtaining an appraisal must take an active role in the appraisal process to ensure that its needs are efficiently met. The goal is to obtain the needed appraisal product without overachieving. The agency has a greater role in the public acquisition appraisal process than is typical in the private sector. The agency must specifically ensure that the assignment (for a staff appraiser) or the contract (for a contract appraiser) addresses the agency's unique needs, as well as assuring compliance with URA requirements.
