Note: President Bush has ten days from presentment, not including Sundays, in which to act before a bill becomes law. Delivery to the White House is normally taken as the time of presentment to the President, thereby commencing the ten-day period. Clause 2 of Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution.

Later on Friday evening the Senate also passed a short-term reauthorization bill (H.R. 3512 Text | PDF) to keep highway programs operating through August 14, while giving President Bush time to review and sign the long-term authorization measure.

House Adopts Conference Report 7/29/05

On Friday, July 29, 2005, the House of Representatives adopted the conference report (H Rept. 109-203) accompanying H.R. 3 by a vote of 412-8.
