Organization:Federal Highway Administration - Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC)
Office: Office of Infrastructure Research and Development
Team: Pavement Design and Construction Team
Roadmap/Focus area(s): Infrastructure Research and Technology Strategic Plan and Roadmap
Project Description: Develop guide performance specifications for jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP) once outcomes from related studies are completed.
Laboratories: Not Applicable
Start Date: August 15, 2013
End Date: August 15, 2016
Funding Amount:$0.00
FHWA Program Name: IRT (Infrastructure Research and Technology)
Goals:
Further develop and field validate performance-related specifications for both asphalt and concrete pavements. This effort is intended to build off earlier Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) projects and the SHRP (State Highway Research Program) 2 R07 project, which focuses on performance-related specification. The objectives will be based on the outcomes from the hot-mix asphalt (HMA) (FHWA PROJ 08-0002) and jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP) (FHWA PROJ O8-0043) studies. It will address some of the gaps identified as the products of SHRP2 R07 move into implementation.
