Objectives and Scope
- Complementary to the FHWA Pooled Fund Safety Evaluation project
- Develop Accident Modification Factors for selected strategies from Volume 12 of NCHRP Report 500 (strategies at signalized intersections)
- Focus on ‘tried’ and ‘experimental’
- Before–after safety effectiveness evaluations
- Likely to evaluate 4–5 treatments

- Task 1: Literature Review

Future Tasks
- Compile results of Task 2 survey
- Follow–up with phone calls to selected agencies
- Select possible strategies/treatments
- Develop work plan and interim report (Aug 2007)
- Meet with NCHRP Panel (Sep/Oct 2007)
- After Panel’s approval, start compiling data for evaluating the selected treatments
- Project is scheduled to end October 31, 2009
