Duties include oversight of the Federal safety program in Ohio and providing technical assistance statewide for safety (bicycle/pedestrian safety, hazard elimination, impaired driving, rail-highway grade crossing safety, roadside design, Safe Routes to School, safety hardware, vehicle occupant restraint, and work zone traffic control)

•    1991 - 1994: Regional Traffic Operations Engineer, Federal Highway Administration Region 5, Homewood, IL. Duties included providing technical assistance in the traffic engineering to FHWA offices in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio & Wisconsin.

•    1978 - 1991: Various positions with Federal Highway Administration in Missouri, New Jersey, Colorado, Maryland & Washington, DC. Duties included general program oversight and administration of the FHWA Highway Engineer and Motor Carrier Training Programs.
