"It All Adds Up to Cleaner
Air" is a collaborative effort of the FHWA, U.S. EPA, and Federal Transit
Administration, which was requested by state and local transportation and
air agencies to help them raise awareness about the connections among transportation
choices, traffic congestion and air pollution.
Perhaps even more important than changing their individual behavior,
informed citizens, elected officials and other community leaders will
be more likely to support transportation solutions, such as I&M programs,
HOV lanes, value-pricing, mass transit, reduced speed limits, bike lanes,
sidewalks, parking restrictions, and even more stringent fuel and vehicle-emissions
standards.
On the "It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air" web page
you'll find research-based communications tools, resources, and commercial-quality
marketing materials free of charge.
It even includes an " It All Adds
Up to Cleaner Air" Exchange,
which is a web-based place to get advice and share products and ideas
for effective public education and outreach on transportation and air
quality issues.
FHWA is pleased to help local communities learn more about transportation
and cleaner air.
(Check out FHWA Administrator Peters helping spread the word by driving
a hybrid vehicle sporting the It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air tagline).
