- VA -- per contract specifications
- NY -- recommended, but not required. Reviews performance/blocking during production
- NY -- other. In general -- NY allows SCC for prestressed applications if the mix is derived from an "approved" HPC mix.
- Air content is generally 5-9 percent, however, a producer may propose a lower range, even down to 3-7 if all other qualification tests are performed at the lowest air content.
- NY does not perform the rapid chloride permeability test because they have found that "poor" mixtures containing dci can show "good" results. NY uses a 90-day ponding test where the chloride ion concentration of the paste is measured at selected depths (eg 25mm, 50mm).
- NY does not perform linear traverse. Matt Royce believes their materials bureau is moving towards air structure analysis using the Air Void Analyzer. NY believes if the mixture meets the F/T and scaling tests that the air structure is adequate.
- NY requires that during qualification testing, the trial mixture is produced at the max w/c ratio + 0.03. During production, they will permit use of concrete then when the microwave testing is at +0.03.
- NY does permit slight vibration or rodding for scc but requires that testing be done during qualification to show the mix won"t segregate. Trial batching and testing is done at the highest "flow".
- Microwave testing performed initially. May be discontinued if results are "on" and agree with batcher/mixer slip.
