THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RECENT ADVANCES IN CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY September 19-21, 2007, USA INTRODUCTION The University of Maryland and Howard University in collaboration with several organizations and the CI-Premier Conference Organization will host the First International Conference on Recent Advances in Concrete Technology. This follows the success of the previous 30 conferences on concrete held since 1976 in Singapore under the sponsorship of CI-Premier. INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE We have great pleasure in extending a cordial invitation to you to participate in the First International Conference on Recent Advances in Concrete Technology. This is the first time such Conference is being held as an off-shoot of CI-Premier conferences held in South-East Asia and elsewhere since 1976. The main objective is to bring together all those who share a common interest in this subject area, to promote international communication of new ideas, developments and innovations. The Conference Committee is looking forward to a very successful and convivial event and we hope that you will be able to join us. OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE The conference will provide a forum to meet and discuss recent advances in concrete technology. The conference scope includes but is not limited to: - Durability of Concrete - Chemical Admixtures - Nondestructive Testing of Concrete - Material Science of Concrete - New Cementitious Systems - New Developments in Concrete Systems - New Approaches in Concrete Applications - Innovative Solutions to Conventional Concrete Systems - Special types of concrete made with Portland cement-- Lightweight, Roller-Compacted Concrete, High density concrete, Self Consolidating Concrete, Fiber Concrete, High Performance Concrete, Flowable Fill, Pervious Concrete, White and Colored concrete, etc. - Special types of concrete not using Portland cement-- Polymer concrete, Asphalt concrete, sodium silicate concrete, etc. - Codes and specifications SCHEDULE Abstracts Due: November 1, 2006 Acceptance of Abstracts: December 1, 2006 Papers Due: February 1, 2007 Review of Papers April 1, 2007 Revised Papers Due: June 1, 2007 Acceptance of Papers: July 25, 2007 Conference Dates: Sept. 19-21, 2007 Both research and practical approaches will be considered and project implementation and case presentation will be a theme in the conference.
