This paper presents a summary of the modeling and analysis for seismic evaluation of the US40/I-64 bridge complex in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. This complex includes over 15,700 feet of side-by-side and double deck elevated roadway. Columns, beams, and bearings of over 118 reinforced concrete bents and the steel girder superstructure units were modeled with 3-D beam elements. Dynamic analysis of the complex included multi-mode response spectrum analysis for a variety of bearing and restrainer configurations. Time history analysis was also conducted for a number of isolation system alternatives.
