Mark Capron is a structural engineer and project manager with Sverdrup Civil's Special Structures Section. Since 1991, Mark has been responsible for seismic evaluation and retrofit design for bridges in Missouri and Illinois including: two bridges across the Mississippi River, two major interchange bridge complexes, and a major interstate viaduct. Other structural engineering assignments during his 20 years with Sverdrup include microwave towers, offshore towers, wind tunnels, a convention center, a geodesic dome, space launch facilities and specialized aerospace manufacturing facilities. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri and is a member of ASCE. Mark has authored 11 papers on seismic retrofit of bridges and is a member of the Access 2 program of the Mid America Earthquake Center.
