Allen F. Laffoon is the division engineer for the Bridge Division of the Missouri Department of Transportation, a position he assumed in January 1988. His job responsibilities include overseeing the activities of the Bridge Division. Laffoon attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1961 and a masters degree in civil engineering--management in 1974. He joined the department in 1962. He has held a variety of positions including inspector I, II, and III; senior construction inspector; resident engineer; assistant to the district construction engineer; district construction engineer; planning traffic engineer; field liaison engineer in Maintenance and Traffic; and Sikeston district engineer. Prior to assuming his present position, Laffoon was the division engineer in Construction. He is a registered professional engineer and a registered land surveyor. He is a member of the Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club. In 1961, before joining the department, he served an Army active duty tour. Laffoon was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He and his wife, Sue, have two children and live in Jefferson City.
