John Gruendler received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1983. Upon graduation, he worked for the St. Louis County Department of Highways and Traffic where he served as resident engineer and bridge engineer. He joined PB Booker Associates (formerly Booker Associates) in 1990 where he is currently a vice president, lead structural engineer, and project manager.
Mr. Gruendler is a registered professional engineer in the States of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Kentucky and a licensed structural engineer in the State of Illinois. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois and the Engineers' Club of St. Louis. He has published several papers on seismic evaluation, design, and retrofitting of highway bridges.
