Assistant Chief Engineer, Design

As Assistant Chief Engineer since May, Bob Sfreddo's primary duty is serving as a liaison to the department's 10 districts on design and other key issues. Prior to being promoted to his present position, Sfreddo was the Design Division engineer where he served since August 1991.
Sfreddo is a 1958 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla where he received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.
He joined the department in 1961 as an engineer inspector I in District 10. During his career, Sfreddo has also served the department as an engineer inspector II and III; designer IV; highway design engineer; pavement and soils engineer; district chief designer; district design engineer; field liaison engineer-location and design; engineer of design; assistant division engineer of design, and district engineer.
Sfreddo is a Professional Engineer and a member of the Missouri Highway Engineers' Association, the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is also a member of the Academy of Civil Engineers at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
He and his wife, Norma, have two children.
