Vince Schimmoller has 36 years of professional experience with the FHWA. He has served in several senior management positions in the agency, including Division Administrator in New Hampshire, Deputy Regional Administrator in Region 5 in Homewood, Illinois, and as Regional Administrator in Region 8. Vince now heads up the Office of Infrastructure in the HQ office in Washington, D.C.

Vince graduated from the University of Dayton, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Administration from Purdue University.

FHWA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation, has 3,400 employees, an annual budget of $22 billion, and an office in every State. FHWA works in partnership with the States and the local governments to maintain the safety and efficiency of the nation's roads and bridges and to enforce federal truck and safety standards. FHWA also provided funding to the States to build the Dwight D. Eisenhower Interstate System, which has been described as the greatest public works project in history. In 1995 Congress enacted legislation establishing the National Highway System, which establishes a network, to extend the benefits of the Interstate System to other key roadways across the nation.
