The highway traffic volume is about 6000 ADT and the crossing railroad volume consists of approximately 75 one-mile long trains per day. Both of these facilities transverse the center of this thriving agricultural/small manufacturing community. Compounding this community's problems is a local river valley which persistently causes flooding which in turn causes delays to freight on both the railroad and NHS route, prevents access by emergency services (ambulance, fire, police, etc.), and also prevents access by the local citizens to the business community for their needs. As a consequence, a comprehensive transportation project is being developed. Previous Page |
