Whether the needs are direct transportation investment such as the development of a multimodal facility or new transload center, or indirect such as locating a new school, or creating a transit oriented mixed use development - all can contribute to successful revitalization of the "Extended Community". The Investment Plans will be devised by a working group made up of residents, local elected or appointed officials and business people, with staff assistance by Maine Department of Transpiration and State Planning Office planners. The investment plans will designed to leverage private investments expected to have an impact on the transportation system and which also help foster healthy communities and economic resurgence. In particular, transportation system needs identified in Maine's Strategic Passenger Transportation and Integrated Freight Plans (attached) will be addressed. Previous Page |
