Development and Application of Passenger Surface Transportation Demand and Needs of Current and Future Commuters in the Omaha, Nebraska to Lincoln, Nebraska Transportation Corridor, and Statewide Between Other Urban Areas

Abstract

The TCSP planning grant will evaluate the demand and needs of commuters along with the most efficient use and/or reuse of the existing transportation infrastructure in the Lincoln to Omaha corridor. The population that would be served includes, at a minimum, the Lincoln metropolitan area (192,558) and the Omaha metropolitan area (484,402). All surface transportation modes will be evaluated. We are just beginning a transportation and community preservation program and the methodology developed with this grant will be used to evaluate other corridors within the state.
