Toolbox for Regional Policy AnalysisThe Toolbox provides MPOs and DOTs involved in regional planning activities information on the application of tools addressing a variety of planning issues, including land use forecasting, accessibility analysis (which can assist in the benefit estimation side of EJ), and freight analysis, among others. The intent is to encourage MPOs and DOTs to better reflect a variety of policies in their analysis procedures and also to use the results in formulation of plans and projects. The desired result: better information for decision makers and the public. The Toolbox also includes further documentation and references relating to different impact areas and how those might be addressed in the context of regional planning analysis. We hope that this website will provide a framework for future work, for instance adding case studies on use of GIS and satellite imagery, safety analysis procedures, or the ITS Deployment Analysis System (IDAS), to name just a few.
