Section 4(f) - Parks, Recreational Facilities, Wildlife Sanctuaries and Historic Sites

Section 4(f) of the 1966 Highway Act, now found in 49 USC 303, protects “public parks and recreation lands, wildlife and waterfowl refuges, and historic sites” from encroachment by public transportation facilities.
