The Assistant Division Administrator shares responsibility with the Division Administrator who is the principal representative of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for the administering the Total Federal-aid highway program in the state of Washington. This includes providing guidance to the State and local official in the identification of transportation needs and related priorities which when implemented enhances out national transportation programs. In the absence of the Division Administrator the Assistant Division Administrator assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Division Administrator for administering the Federal aid program in the state of Washington. The Assistant Division Administrator also sets office direction and assigns work to accomplish the activities identified in the Washington Division office plan which is aligned to the National Strategic Plan as well as FHWA's Vital Few initiatives. The Assistant Division administrator also serves as the first line supervisor of program managers within the Division Office.
