Planning (Jeff Blanton)The Planning Team provides technical, administrative, and authoritative guidance to our planning partners; the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT), the 7 Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and local transportation officials in their implementation of the transportation planning process as required by 23CFR 450 (Statewide & Metropolitan Planning Rule). This includes the integration of the transportation and air quality planning processes. We assist the MPOs in the development of their Long Range Transportation Plans (LRTP) and their Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs). These documents are coordinated with the Statewide Long Range Plan, the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), and the Statewide Implementation Plan (SIP) for air quality. The Planning Team is also responsible for the Scenic Byways Program,
Recreational Trails Program, and the Transportation Enhancement Program. |
