Description | The Florida Department of Transportation is partnering with the University of Florida, the City of Gainesville, and the City of Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) to deploy and test pedestrian and bicyclist safety applications at signalized intersections and mid-block crossings using Connected Vehicle technologies. The goal of the project is to disseminate real-time traffic information to motorists and pedestrian/bicyclists, as well as transit vehicles, and improve safety and operations along the corridors using Basic Safety Messages and Vehicle to Infrastructure and Vehicle to Pedestrian communications. |
