Description | The New Jersey Department of Transportation will develop and deploy a Weather-Savvy Roads Program that can provide remote real time video stream and road sensing capabilities from the DOT fleet to Statewide Traffic Management Centers as a pilot program. This will provides the agency with critical adverse weather information (i.e., rain, sleet, snow, fog, severe crosswinds, or blowing snow/sand/debris, wet pavement, snowy/slushy pavement, or icy pavement) needed to proactively manage its roadway system specifically during winter storms, tropical storms or hurricanes.
