ACTION: Interstate Maintenance Discretionary (IMD) Funds - Fiscal Years (FYs) 1998-99 Allocations November 3, 1998

Chief, Federal-Aid and Design Division

HNG-12

Division Administrators

This is to advise you of the projects selected for IMD funds available for FYs 1998-99. We received and reviewed a total of 96 candidate projects submitted by 33 States requesting $2.25 billion in discretionary funds. Projects selected and allocations to each project are shown in the attached table. The appropriation code for these funds is Q02.

The Federal share for IMD funds is 90 percent and the funds are subject to obligation limitation. An equal amount of obligation limitation is also being distributed for each allocation.

Each allocation and the accompanying obligation limitation are available only for the specific project shown. Any request to adjust the amount of IMD funds or to shift unobligated allocations and project underruns to other projects must be forwarded in writing to the Chief, Federal-Aid and Design Division for approval.

We expect the obligation of these funds will be accomplished in a timely manner. Any unobligated funds will be withdrawn for the August redistribution of obligation limitation towards the end of FY 1999.

By copy of this memorandum, we request the Budget Division of the Office of Budget and Finance to process these allocations. You may call Mr. Cecilio Leonin of the Federal-Aid and Design Division at 202-366-4651 if you have questions.

Dwight A. Horne
