What is your current position and how long have you been in this role?
Currently, I am a Human Resources Specialist and have been in this role at FHWA for three years.
What is your typical workday like?
My day usually involves juggling multiple priorities regarding various HR related matters such as staffing, personnel security, awards and recognition, benefits, and student hiring.
What has been your biggest accomplishment over the last year?
Within the past year, I have had the pleasure of coordinating several successful events back-to-back, including an Agency-wide Financial Literacy Fair for DOT employees.
Prior to working at FHWA, what was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?
My most interesting job prior to FHWA was when I served as a Student Program Coordinator at the National Institutes of Health. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the students! I was able to use the knowledge that I had been equipped with to help contribute to their early career development.
What are your hobbies in your spare time?
Some of my hobbies include: traveling, reading, interior decorating, walking, and cooking.
What is one of the biggest lessons you have learned in your career to get you where you are today?
The biggest lesson that I have learned is the value in seeking and finding PURPOSE in your career, rather than merely a position.
