Jack London Square Amtrak Station
Oakland, California
Designer: VBN Architectural Firm, Oakland
Contractors: SHC Mark Diversified Construction Co.
Oakland's new Jack London Square Amtrak Station was built to replace the condemned station destroyed during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The terminal complex, with state-of-the-art parking, pedestrian bridge, boarding platforms, and a two-story station facility, provides connections between Amtrak and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, the Oakland Airport, and ferry service connection to San Francisco.
