Southwest Geotechnical Engineers Conference

Background

The Southwest Geotechnical Engineers Conference (SWGEC) is composed of 9 state departments of transportation including: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, The SWGEC encourages state and local transportation departments within the region to contribute with presentations on their local geotechnical topics of interest. The SWGEC also encourages presentations from consultants, universities, contractors, and suppliers working on transportation related projects. This conference is an excellent opportunity for transportation agencies to share their experiences with each other as well as for the private sector to highlight how they can partner with the public transportation agencies to construct and maintain the nation’s transportation infrastructure.

The SWGEC is typically held in the spring of every year rotating among the member states. See below for a history of past conference locations.
