Climate Variability and Change in Mobile Alabama
This report assesses current climate conditions and development of projected climate change information for use in the vulnerability assessment. It discusses development of projected daily temperature and precipitation variables downscaled for the Mobile region, as well as selection and development of temperature and precipitation variables (based on the downscaled information) considered most relevant to assessing transportation's vulnerability to climate change. These derived variables reflect thresholds considered relevant to transportation infrastructure design. This report also includes development of local sea level rise projections and storm surge scenarios for the study area, and estimates potential sea level rise and storm surge impacts.
Appendices A-D include supporting information on the methodologies used; Appendix E lists in detail the downscaled modeling results for the temperature and precipitation projections.

Assessing the Sensitivity of Transportation Assets to Climate Change
This report and the companion sensitivity matrix and sensitivity screen were created to help assess the sensitivity of transportation assets to climate change impacts. The report provides background information on understanding sensitivity, the methodology used in the matrix and screen, and the results for Mobile. The matrix itself documents the sensitivity of transportation modes and sub-modes to climate change effects.
