Innovation of the Month: Mexican Officials to Participate in Responder Training

The FHWA-sponsored Border Technology Exchange Program of the Arizona Department of Transportation is sponsoring two Department of Public Safety officials from the State of Sonora, Mexico, to attend a Traffic Incident Management Train-the-Trainer session. The day-and-a-half course beginning May 7 in San Antonio, TX, follows a 4-hour version of this training held in Nogales, Mexico, in March. Mexican officials are interested in expanding the workshop to other state jurisdictions. The course is designed to help responders achieve the traffic incident management objectives on responder safety, safe and quick incident clearance, and interoperable communications.
