| Description | The project will fund the construction of two interconnected mini-roundabouts on Minnesota State Highway 4 (1st Avenue) at the intersections with Armstrong Boulevard and 7th Street. The project will also fund back-in-angle parking between the mini-roundabouts. The mini-roundabouts are part of a larger urban reconstruction project of Highway 4 through St. James and will replace signals at both intersections. In Minnesota, they will be the first mini-roundabouts on the State highway system and the first roundabouts of any type for the City of St. James. They are also the first in a constrained urban setting as they will be located along a fully developed block in downtown St. James. Mini-roundabouts are part of FHWA’s Every Day Counts initiative on Intersection/Interchange Geometrics. | |
