Federal-Aid Policy Guide Subject: FEDERAL-AID POLICY GUIDE UPDATE Date: December 22, 1999 Transmittal Number 28

1. PURPOSE. To update the Federal-Aid Policy Guide (FAPG) to include a number of changes that were previously published in the Federal Register.

2. CHANGES. The changes to the FAPG are as follows:
   1. FAPG Introduction, is revised to reflect the issuance of the FAPG in electronic (Internet-only) format and remove the language related to its issuance in paper format,

   2. 23 CFR 655F, Traffic Operations is revised to update Sec. 655.601, Purpose, to include information concerning the availability of certain publications,

   3. 23 CFR 1200A, 1200B, 1200C, and 1200D, Uniform Procedures for State Highway Safety Programs, are totally revised,

   4. 23 CFR 1205, Highway Safety Programs; Determinations of Effectiveness, is revised to change the funding procedures for the National Priority Program Areas, and

   5. 49 CFR 24A, 24B, 24C, 24D, 24E, and Appendix A, Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Regulations for Federal and Federally Assisted Programs, are revised to include several new definitions and other major changes.

3. REGULATORY MATERIAL. The regulatory material in this directive has been published in the Federal Register and will be codified in Titles 23 and 49, Code of Federal Regulations.
