The Office of Administration provides services in support of the FHWA mission, programs and objectives in the areas of acquisition, human resource management, and administrative and information resources management. While many of these services are primarily focused on internal FHWA management and operations, they also include services to FHWA's partners and customers. These external services include programs to enhance coordinating information sharing with our partners via Electronic Data Sharing and Electronic Signatures and with the public via FHWA's Internet Web site.
Office of Information and Management Services - The Office of Information and Management Services administers FHWA policy and programs for information technology; telecommunications; property and space management; organization and records management; and the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. The Office also provides management consultant services; acts as the FHWA audit and investigative liaison; and provides production support services for public FHWA awareness campaigns.
Office of Acquisition Management - The mission of the Office of Acquisition Management (HAAM) is to support the FHWA Headquarters research and development (R&D) contract program. HAAM negotiates, awards, and administers a variety of contractual instruments, including contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and purchase orders. HAAM procures R&D studies, data analyses, and development of automated systems and training courses to enhance highway transportation technology. HAAM also maintains a simplified acquisition program to purchase office supplies, as well as ADP and scientific laboratory test equipment. HAAM is organized into contract specialist teams concentrating on specific program areas.
