Long Description

Figure 4.4 presents a flow chart representing the processes shown in the Figure 4.3 aerial photo. Northbound commercial vehicles first pay a toll, and then proceed through the Mexican costume facility, a portion of the vehicles are diverted to the cargo inspection to physically inspect the cargo. Commercial vehicles then cross the border and enter the South CBP facility. Laden trucks, unladen trucks, and FAST program trucks are processed separately, all laden trucks that are not part of the FAST program are routed through the secondary inspection are for cargo inspections. The FMCSA check occurs at the exit of the CBP facility. Then commercial vehicles pass through the TxDOT border safety inspection facility before they can proceed into the United States.
