This chart shows population changes in two maps of the counties of the state of Kentucky. The first map is titled Historical Population Growth 1980-2000 and shows strongest growth towards the center of the state and population loss clustered in the southeastern counties, and a few northeastern and western counties. The second map is titled Projected Population Growth 2000-2020. It shows similar distribution of growth patterns to the previous map, but more growth and less population loss. The southeastern counties continue to be an area of population decline, however.
