State Owned Bridges
Exhibit 11-4 is a bar graph that shows State-owned bridges. The vertical axis measures percentages from 0 to 60 in increments of 10 percent. The horizontal axis has four bars, one for each functional class. In the first bar, for interstates, of the 20 percent of bridges that are State-owned, half are urban and half are rural. In the second bar, for other arterials, of the 42 percent of bridges that are State-owned, roughly two-fifths are urban and three-fifths are rural. In the third bar, for collectors, of the 27 percent of bridges that are State-owned, less than 10 percent are urban and more than 90 are rural. And in the fourth bar, for local bridges, of the 12 percent that are State-owned, about 15 percent are urban and 85 are rural. There is also a line in the graph for percent of ADT carried by State bridges; it starts at 52 percent for interstates, drops to 42 for other arterials, 5 for collectors, and 2 for local.
