/ This table includes data on all motor fuels subject to State motor-fuel taxes except special fuels (fuels other than gasoline and gasohol) used for nonhighway purposes. It is not intended to reflect the amount of fuel used on high- ways. For some States, data are not comparable to prior years due to changes in data analysis and/or improve- ments in reporting procedures. All data are subject to further review and revision.

/ Export sales and other amounts not consumed as motor fuel in the State have been excluded wherever possible.

/ Includes Federal use, other public use, certain transit use, nonhighway use where initial exemptions rather than refunds were made, and allowances for evaporation and other losses.

/ Tax rates are as of December 31, 2016.

/ In some States, fuel used for specific purposes is taxed or refunded at rates other than the prevailing rates shown in Table MF-121T. In the case of aviation fuel, only aviation gasoline is included.
