LTPP Data: Access the World's Largest Pavement Performance Database

The latest edition of the world's largest pavement performance database is now available from the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program. LTPP Standard Data Release (SDR) 21 can be obtained as a five-CD set or a single DVD. The SDR is in Microsoft Access® format.

The release contains the complete LTPP pavement performance database, including new material sampling and testing data from the Specific Pavement Study (SPS) Material Action Plan and new weigh-in-motion traffic data from the SPS Traffic Pooled-Fund Study (Study No. TPF-5(004)). LTPP data and products are used by States and others in a range of applications, including developing and enhancing pavement management systems and calibrating and validating the new Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide. The release also contains a Database User Reference Guide, tutorial, and other information about the database, including details on changes made since previous data releases.

Also available on CD from the LTPP program is a Reference Library of LTPP documents. The CD features research reports, technical briefs, resource documents, and utilities for the LTPP database, such as Table Navigator. The Table Navigator application contains definitions for database fields and codes and allows users to expand, collapse, and search the LTPP database structure.

For more information or to obtain a copy of SDR 21 or the Reference Library, contact LTPP Customer Support Services, 202-493-3035 (email: ltppinfo@fhwa.dot.gov).
