LTPP Accomplishments and Early Products To Be Featured at Conference

Engineers and managers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining roadways will want to attend the upcoming long-term pavement performance (LTPP) conference, "Improving Pavements with LTPP: Products for Today and Tomorrow." Scheduled for March 26-28, the conference will provide an update on the LTPP program's accomplishments and early products. The conference also has the goal of enhancing communication among the LTPP partners--highway agencies, academia, industry, and FHWA.

The conference will focus on early products already resulting from the LTPP program, products under development, and the path for developing new products. An exhibit area will also be featured, providing attendees with an opportunity to see some of the products and talk with developers and early users of them.

The target audience is primarily State/Provincial, local agency, Federal, industry, and consulting engineers and managers responsible for delivering pavement programs.

Topics to be discussed include the following:

The conference will be held in Irvine, California, at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Science and Engineering. Conference sessions will open at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, and conclude at noon on Thursday, March 28. The Hyatt Newporter has been designated as the conference hotel, with complimentary shuttle service being provided between the hotel and the Beckman Center.

Because of space limitations at the conference site, advance registration is required. To register for the conference or to get a copy of the final program announcement, contact Cindy Baker at TRB at 202-334-1430. The registration fee is $150 (U.S.).

To make your hotel reservations, contact the Hyatt Newporter (telephone: 714-729-1234; fax: 714-644-1552). The hotel rate at press time was $102. When you make your reservations, please tell the hotel that you will be attending the LTPP national meeting.
