Right-of-Way

Sometimes, the real property interests alongside a roadway must be acquired to construct or complete construction of a transportation project - this property is generally referred to as the right-of-way (ROW) or real property interests. To minimize the disruptive impacts which individuals may face when their property is being acquired, the 23 CFR 710 regulations govern the acquisition, management and disposal of real property interests acquired on transportation programs or projects which receive Title 23 U.S.C. financial support from FHWA.
