The team works closely with FHWA Headquarters, field offices and other Federal agencies to provide technical assistance, technology deployment and training to partners and customers in all areas of transportation air quality. The team also coordinates and partners with other RC teams to deliver integrated services to customers on related program areas.

Air Quality Technical Expertise
  • Air quality planning
  • Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ)
  • Criteria Pollutants associated with transportation sources (carbon monoxide, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide)
  • Emissions Modeling: Regional and Project Scales
  • Freight air quality
  • Refined and screening highway air dispersion modeling (Project and Regional Scales)
  • Highway air dispersion models (AERMOD/CAL3QHCR, CAL3QHC/CALINE3/CALINE4)
  • Highway Traffic Noise
  • Mobile Source Air Toxics (MSATS)
  • Mobile source emissions models (MOVES, Emfac)
  • MySQL Relational Database Management System
  • Pollution health effects
  • Transportation conformity
  • Transportation issues related to Resiliency
