Next PCEF Meeting October 26, 2000,  Dover, Delaware

Attached is a set of directions and map to the college and hotel accommodations for your use.  Phone number for the Comfort Suites is 302-736-1204; government rate of $74.50, tax included, is also available there.  Attendees are encouraged to make their own reservations as soon as possible.

Continuing the practice initiated last year, the Delaware Department of Transportation has volunteered to take notes at the meeting, and to distribute the information afterwards with attachments.  We appreciate very much their willingness to share this new responsibility.

All PCEF members with an Internet address will be notified that they may access the materials there.  Hard copies will not be mailed to these individuals.  Those members without an Internet address who have an * next to their name will receive a fax of the materials, and are requested to make the information available as soon as possible to other non-Internet members on the PCEF list who work in their office.

If there are any problems with receiving the documents either electronically or by fax, please notify Ms. Marsha Simmons at (410) 962-2773.

Members are requested to review each of the Subcommittee lists and to consider representation by their state or company as appropriate.

Following is a supplement to the referenced agenda items:

4. Status of High Performance Concrete Projects

According to our records, DE, NY, and VA have projects approved under the 1998-2000 FHWA Innovative Bridge Research & Construction Program (IBRCP).  We would appreciate attendees from these States providing an update on their projects, as well as those States who submitted candidates for the 2001 IBRCP program.  We would also like to receive a status report from all State attendees on their HPC implementation efforts.  This is intended to include submittal of HPC  project information on the forms that were distributed at the last PCEF meeting.   For the states of NY and VA who are fully implementing HPC, this submittal is intended to include only the I-95 bridge over Midland Avenue (NY), the Route 106 bridge over the Chickahominy River (VA) and the Route 11 bridge over the Maury River (VA).
8b. Standardization Subcommittee Attendees from those states previously not completing the ballot on Guidelines and Details for Intermediate Diaphragms are requested to be prepared to discuss their states position at this meeting. 9. LRFD Implementation/Changes in Bid Prices for P/S Beams Attendees from each State are requested to be prepared to discuss their states efforts in this area, along with providing any bidding results that reflect changes due to LRFD. An overhead projector, slide projector and flip chart will be available for anyone anticipating their need.  Power Point equipment will also be available, however, speakers are asked to bring their own laptop computer, and a CD of their talk.  All speakers are asked to provide paper copies as well.

We look forward to another successful turnout and to the active participation of all attendees at both meetings.
