The Future
Today, at 4:29 p.m., transportation history will be made – by a teenage driver in a Delorean. The story of time-traveling adventurer Marty McFly and eccentric scientist Emmet “Doc” Brown is well known to millions around the world. It underscores the value of innovation, imagination and teamwork – three ingredients the FHWA uses every day. Spanning almost as many years as McFly’s adventures through history, the FHWA is paving the way toward a safer, more efficient future for all travelers – whether they be drivers, bicyclists or pedestrians. Below, you’ll see a few samples of the work we are currently working on. At the FHWA, we aren’t just helping to build better roads and bridges – we’re helping to build a better tomorrow.
