Northwest Geotechnical Workshop (NWGW)

Background

The Northwest Geotechnical Workshop (NWGW) is composed of 10 state departments of transportation including: Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The NWGW seeks to bring together State and Federal DOT geotechnical professionals from the north western region of the United States and Alaska.  Although this workshop is primarily limited to local, state, and federal agencies private sector geotechnical professionals who have partnered on public sector projects can be invited to participate.   This workshop is an excellent peer exchange opportunity for transportation agencies to share with each other their experiences on technology deployment efforts as well as project case histories.  The objective is to learn about what is going well in addition to learning from opportunities when things don’t go as planned.
