Description The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) plans to construct a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Interstate 95 Exit 187 in Bangor, Maine. Design of the DDI has recently begun, with a construction advertisement that could occur as early as the spring of 2019. MaineDOT expects to demonstrate the benefits of a DDI and demonstrate an adaptable DDI design that will accommodate the approximate 10 years of life of the existing bridge and to design the DDI while planning for the upcoming major rehabilitation or replacement of the bridge.
