Portland Cement Concrete Pavements ResearchHIPERPAV Software - Validation Model SummaryThe Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), aware that HIPERPAV can be used as a powerful predictive tool, provided funding for the experimental validation of the theoretical model. Experimental validation of the HIPERPAV software will give confidence that HIPERPAV is accurately predicting pavement performance at early ages. The HIPERPAV Validation Model Summary presents the work plan for this validation process. The Summary consists of two sections. Section I, the Executive Summary for the Field Verification of HIPERPAV, provides an overview of the HIPERPAV calibration and validation process. Section II, a battery of brief Validation Model Technical Memorandums, provides simplified descriptions of the experimental designs used to validate each of the individual models, as well as descriptions of the field construction sites, the laboratory tests, and the materials characterizations. HIPERPAV Validation Model SummaryI. Executive Summary for the Field Verification of HIPERPAV (.pdf, 0.1 mb) The objective of this document is to provide a summary of the experimental field instrumentation efforts undertaken to validate the theoretical models used in the HIPERPAV software. A description of the analyses performed and the results found are presented. The modifications made to the software as a result of the calibration are described and some recommendations for further improvements are made. II. Validation Model Technical Memorandums Note: Each of the Validation Technical Memorandum PDF documents has a built-in table of contents for ease of navigation between Memorandums, but be aware that this feature will not be available unless you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 installed on your computer.
