Publication Details

Introduction to LTPP Data General Interest: provides practical guidance to engineers responsible for the day-to-day design, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and management of pavements. Research/Reference: useful for researchers doing further work in the pavement area as well as those developing improved testing and design procedures. Includes documents of historical value.

Primary Topic: Pavement Maintenance

Description: The Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program was established to support a broad range of pavement performance analyses leading to improved engineering tools to design, construct, and manage pavements. Since 1989, LTPP has collected data on the performance of pavement test sections located on in-service roadways across North America. Most of the data and information collected on the approximately 2,500 test sections are stored in the LTPP database called the Information Management System (IMS).
