Congressional Affairs Team

The Congressional Affairs Team acts as the central point of contact between FHWA staff and Congress, developing and maintaining productive working relationships. The Team responds to Congressional requests for technical assistance and reports on project status, liaises with FHWA program offices and field staff to prepare timely responses, and coordinates and manages meetings and conference calls among FHWA personnel and Congressional staff. The Team advises FHWA leadership and staff on Congressional perspectives. The team also serves as a main point of contact for meetings with local officials and fly-in groups such as local Chambers of Commerce and local delegations who travel to Washington, D.C. and meet with FHWA and DOT officials regarding surface transportation priorities.
