What We Do

The Office of Legislative Affairs and Policy Communications supports the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Congress on legislative and policy development. The Office provides technical assistance on surface transportation reauthorization and appropriations legislation, conducts analyses in support of the Federal-aid highway programs and budget, and develops briefings for FHWA and USDOT officials. The Office also acts as the central point of contact between FHWA and Congress and State and local governments.

Specific programs include Legislative Analysis, Policy Communications, and Congressional Affairs.
